Barclays Wealth produces a range of research publications - from regular reports for clients that provide detailed macroeconomic analysis and investment strategies to publications covering the psychology and demographics of investors and wealthy individuals.
Macroeconomic analysis and investment strategies
Our research and strategy teams have two distinct aims - to provide macro-economic analysis and to deliver investment strategy advice to Barclays Wealth clients.
Research analysts forecast the main economic variables, policymakers' reaction to them and thus the likely returns for the main asset classes. Strategy analysts use these forecasts to produce shorter-term, 'tactical' asset allocation recommendations, seeking to identify optimal investment strategies.
We publish two flagship publications - the quarterly Signpost and the monthly Compass. The former focuses on macro-economic developments. The latter provides detailed investment advice, providing actionable ideas for clients. Updates are available through a range of weekly and daily publications.
Michael Dicks, Chief Economist, and Aaron Gurwitz, Head of Global Research, Economics and Strategy and Chief Investment Officer, also offer their insights through regular conference calls and other events for clients.
Barclays Wealth Insights
The Barclays Wealth Insights reports, developed in partnership with the Economist Intelligence Unit, provide a comprehensive picture of what it means to be wealthy in the 21st century. Through global research with high net worth individuals and wealth experts, each report provides analysis of the trends that shape the behaviours of this influential group, and of society at large.
We also publish individual white papers that explore current issues and trends in wealth around the world.
Behavioural finance
Behavioural finance research uses psychology to understand why investors make the financial decisions they do, the traps they can fall into, and how these individual decisions combine to drive markets.
