Right now, money is probably becoming an important part of their life. A Barclays Young Person's account is one accessory no teenager can be without. With this account they could get a Connect Electronic card for when they're out and about or want to shop online. Plus:
Key features and benefits
- They can withdraw up to £300 a day from any Barclays cash machine or wherever they see the PLUS sign as long as they have enough money in their accounts
- They can also get a cheque book and a paying-in book
- Variable credit interest rates. Interest is paid four times a year
- Get allowances or earnings paid directly to their account
The Cash Card and Connect Electronic Card are currently unavailable to Young Person's account holders with a Gibraltar sort code: 233374, 204521 or 204515.
* To qualify for this account at 19, teenagers will need to be in further education or taking a gap-year before starting a full-time higher education course.
How to apply
The account is available to children of Barclays International clients who have iBank, iBank Saver or the Relationship Manager Service. It is not available as a standalone product, except to children resident for tax purposes in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Gibraltar.
