We can help with all your day-to-day banking needs with an instant-access current account. You'll find it easy to access and manage your money using the Barclays branch network, by telephone or via Online Banking, our internet banking service.

Current account

Get hold of your money easily and take control of your spending. Our instant-access current account is available in sterling, euros or US dollars. It comes with a debit card that gives you convenient access to your cash and lets you make purchases in store, online and over the phone.

  • Includes a Barclays Connect Debit Card (sterling accounts only) or a Barclays Deferred Debit Card (euro and US dollar accounts)
  • Maximum flexibility, allowing you to withdraw cash without notice (as long as you have enough money in your account)
  • Easy control over your day-to-day spending using standing orders and direct debits. A cheque book is available on request
  • Overdrafts available (subject to status)
  • You can apply for a Personal Reserve, which gives you access to emergency funds to help prevent payments being returned unpaid. It also helps you avoid fees and interest charges that you might otherwise incur if you exceed your account limit.

Telephone and online banking

Making the most of your account is easy with our international telephone and online banking services. They help you manage your money whenever it suits you*, wherever you are. With your unique membership number and pass code you can securely carry out much of your day-to-day banking almost any time:

  • Check your account balances and latest transactions
  • Transfer money between your accounts
  • Make international and UK payments up to £50,000 (or currency equivalent)
  • Save up to £15 when making international online payments
  • Set-up or amend regular payments (standing orders)
  • Apply for additional accounts.

Bank accounts for children and young people

Children's Savings Account

Perfect for parents and guardians, this account lets you manage your children’s savings until they are 18, safe in the knowledge that the money will be there when they need it most.

BarclayPlus Account

Ideal for children aged 11-15, this account sets them on the road to managing their own finances. It's a savings account and current account in one, so they get instant access as well as the satisfaction of seeing their money grow.

Young Person's Account

This account is designed for 16-19 year olds who are looking for some financial independence. They can withdraw cash and use their debit card to shop in person and online, as long as they have enough money in their account.
