Anthony Valvo hired as part of a larger initiative to build the Barclays Wealth banking platform for the Americas

Barclays Wealth, the global wealth manager and advisor, is pleased to announce that it has hired Anthony Valvo as a Director and Head of Credit Structuring, Americas.

Mr. Valvo brings more than 18 years of experience in private banking and commercial credit to his new position. At Barclays Wealth in the Americas, he will be responsible for originating, structuring and managing credit transactions for high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals and further developing the firm's structured lending capabilities in the region. In this role, Mr. Valvo will report locally to Paul Morton, Managing Director, Head of Business Strategy and Platforms for Barclays Wealth in the Americas, and globally to Torben Nielsen, Managing Director, Head of Global Banking and Credit Solutions for Barclays Wealth.

Commenting on his position, Mr. Valvo said: "I am excited to be joining Barclays Wealth as it continues to build in the Americas. I look forward to utilizing my credit and product expertise to help develop a best-in-class offering tailored to the needs of our clientele."
     
Mr. Valvo joins from Citigroup, Global Wealth Management, where he spent more than a decade, most recently as a Senior Credit Officer managing structured lending for the high net worth business in the Mid-Atlantic and the business finance segment nationally. Previously, Mr. Valvo held positions focusing on Risk Management and Asset Recovery.
