Hay Festival
Barclays Wealth was proud to sponsor, for the fifth consecutive year, the main venue at The Hay Festival of Literature. The Hay festival is held in the small town of Hay-on-Wye, alongside the staggering beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The event ran from 26 May - 5 June 2011.
Founded in 1988 by Peter Florence, The Hay Festival is an informal but inspiring event. Its programme showcases a huge variety of literary, cultural and political talent from across the globe. Bill Clinton once described the annual festival as "the Woodstock of the mind".
Hay audiences come from across the UK and from as far afield as Europe, Canada, North and South America, Australasia and Asia.
Barclays Wealth's sponsorship of the festival's main venue, the Barclays Wealth Pavilion, forges a deeper connection between Barclays Wealth and the Hay Festival, through the fostering of intellectual debate.
