Patrick Ramsey appointed as Managing Director, Head of Barclays Wealth Switzerland

Barclays Wealth, a leading global wealth manager, is pleased to announce that it has hired Patrick Ramsey from Merrill Lynch as Managing Director, Head of Barclays Wealth Switzerland.

Based in Geneva, Mr. Ramsey will be responsible for all management, growth and direction of the Swiss business, consisting of approximately 400 people, and which is a platform that plays an intrinsic part in Barclays Wealth’s overall success as one of the firm’s key global business centres.

Philippe Sednaoui, the current head in Switzerland, has been appointed to a new senior global role within Barclays Wealth; that of Global Head of Latin American Markets.

Mr. Ramsey's credentials for this business-critical leadership role are impeccable. He joins from Merrill Lynch, where he has worked since 2002.  He was most recently CEO & General Manager for Switzerland, before which he had been Head of Latin America and Europe Private Bank and Family Wealth Solutions Group. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Patrick spent nine years with The Darier Hentsch Group.

This combination of wealth and asset management experience, along with his deep knowledge of the Swiss banking environment, will be crucially important given Barclays Wealth's holistic wealth management positioning with its clients and its commitment to Switzerland.

Mr. Ramsey will report to Emmanuel Fievet, Head of Barclays Wealth International Private Banking, EMEA, who comments: "Patrick has a proven track record of successfully managing a Swiss private banking operation and is a dynamic and engaging leader.
