15 September 2008: Barclays Wealth hires Chokkalingam Gangatharan as Head of Equity Research as a part of its continued Indian expansion

Barclays Wealth announces the appointment of Chokkalingam G. as its Head of Equity Research in India. Mr. Chokkalingam joins Barclays Wealth from ENAM Securities where he spent fifteen years in the research and knowledge management team.
 
Chokkalingam G. will be based in Mumbai and will report jointly into India’s Head of Investment and Product Office and CIO, Ramachandran Krishnan and Barclays Wealth’s Head of Research and Investment Strategy, Michael Dicks.  In this newly created role, Chokkalingam G. will be responsible for Barclays Wealth’s team of equity research analysts in India and will work closely with the fund managers and relationship managers in India to provide informed and tailored solutions to our clients. He will work closely with Mr. Krishnan to help build local equity research capability on the ground for Barclays Wealth across a variety of sectors and will focus on strengthening the small-cap, mid-cap and large-cap offering.

Chokkalingam .G  has an MA in Economics from the Ramakrishna Mission, Vivekananda College in Chennai and was awarded an Indian Council for Social Science Research  Doctoral Fellowship at ISEC, Bangalore. He has also published several research articles and papers which have appeared in the Economic Times, Financial Express, Asian Journal of Economics and Economic & Political Weekly, to name a few.
