11 August 2008: Barclays Wealth appoints new Financial Controller to Glasgow’s Aurora

Barclays Wealth, the UK’s leading Wealth manager, today (11 August 2008) announced the appointment of David Currie who joins the company as Financial Controller within Barclays Wealth’s Financial Control Team, based in Glasgow. The appointment, based at Barclays Wealth’s offices in The Aurora Building, Glasgow, has been made to support the ongoing expansion of the company’s investment operations arm in the city, reinforcing Barclays Wealth’s continuing commitment to Glasgow.

Currie, formerly Head of Reporting at National Australia Group, brings over 15 years’ experience to Barclays Wealth.  In his new role, Currie will be responsible for the management of the Barclays Wealth Financial Control team, based in Glasgow.

The expansion of Barclays Wealth in Glasgow has seen the recruitment of over 600 new members since the beginning of 2007, across its technology, HR, finance and operations divisions.  The company, which received an SDI grant to facilitate the growth of the business, is on track to exceed the number of roles it committed to Glasgow by the end of 2009.
